Dear Members, Judges and Friends Posted: Dec 2017

Thank you for all your support and good wishes which have helped us through the past months while we pulled together all the good aspects of Ponies (UK) and prepare it for the future.

Whats New??

The Office - You will now have the pleasures of speaking or dealing with Debbie Miller, the new P(UK) administrator. Debbie has a wealth of experience in the organisation of shows at Stretcholt Equestrian Centre and is a BSPS regional Chairman. She has miniature horses, organises British Dressage shows and is immersed in our sport. The telephone number and email address remain the same.

AGM, JUDGES CONFERENCE & PUK BALL - We are holding the P(UK) AGM on 3rd March at The Holiday Inn at Birmingham Airport. The Law requires this meeting, but we want all members to feel welcome to join us, as it is your association, we need to know you approve (or otherwise) of the plans we are making. After the AGM, a hot lunch will be available before we hold our interactive judges conference. Entry to to the judges conference is open to all, Judges, members and friends. Into the evening and the first Ponies (UK) spectacular ball and with Carol Cooper in charge it is sure to be an evening full of surprises alongside a live band and disco. Tickets are selling fast at £45 each for a scrumptious meal and all the entertainment of the evening. Children are most definitely welcome. We are holding a ‘Auction of Promises’, and our auctioneer for the evening is Gary Docking, so it will definitely be a lively affair.

Spring Classic. A brand new and exciting schedule which will hopefully have something to suit everyone with a timetable that is competitor friendly. The new Gold Medal series specifically designed for competitors who have been out and qualified during the Winter season. We also have secured some new RIHS Show Pony, Part Bred and a full range of BSPA RIHS classes to sit alongside the many RIHS qualifiers we already hold across our 2 day extravaganza. The show kicks off on Friday evening with a ‘Hoe-Down’, all are invited, hot food available, drinks and ....... a lorry dog competition, and the UNICORN of the year (UOY) competition - the schedule will tell you the ins and outs of UOY.

Save the date - Spring Classic show 23rd-25th March at The College Equestrian centre, Keysoe.

Merry Christmas and good health to you all, your families and of course your horses, ponies and dogs!
See you in 2018!!!

Carol Cooper and the board, Julie, Frances, Helen & Viv

Davina Whiteman retires from the helm of Ponies Association (UK) Posted: Feb 2017

Ponies Association (UK) is moving into the future with a new team at the helm.

Davina Whiteman has, after being the Chairman of the association for many years and taking and bringing her mother’s –Joan Lee-Smith – vision of the future of showing to fruition, which included the education of the horse / pony owners to improve the welfare of all our equines, including our wonderful native breeds, decided that she wishes to step back and start a new chapter in her life.

The horse and pony world has a huge debt to Davina who has worked tirelessly.  The new board of Ponies Association (UK) wish Davina the very best in the new chapter of her life.

The new board of directors is led by Julie Templeton as the interim Chairperson, and Helen Turner as the Vice.  These two ladies have a wealth of experience behind them and along with other members of the board are excited by future developments.

An invitation is extended to past and present members to join with us in thanking Davina for all she has done for the Association.

It is proposed that an open meeting for all members , past, present and future is to be held during the Winter Championships at Bury Farm, Buckinghamshire , 24,25,26th March.  More information will be published.
